OUR STORY

Durga Puja Cork, now formally registered as SANSKRITI CLG, has been at the heart of Indian cultural celebrations in Cork for several years. Widely known for hosting vibrant and inclusive festivals, we are committed to promoting cultural harmony and community spirit through large-scale public celebrations.

Rooted in Culture: What began as a small initiative by a passionate team of volunteers has grown into a landmark celebration of Indian heritage in Cork—starting with the first Durga Puja and evolving into a vibrant series of cultural festivals.
Growing Together: Over the years, our festivals have flourished—drawing 2,500+ attendees, including Irish locals and the international community, united in a shared love for culture and connection.
Celebrating Heritage, Embracing Diversity: Through music, dance, food, and art, we create spaces that bring people together across cultures and backgrounds.
Building Cultural Bridges: Our mission is to make Indian traditions accessible and engaging for all—fostering dialogue, friendship, and mutual respect within Cork’s diverse community.
Community at Heart: From inclusive programming to free meals, we strive to make everyone feel welcome and valued—no matter where they come from.
Join us on this meaningful journey—where culture inspires connection, tradition sparks celebration, and every step forward is taken together.
With the continued support of Cork’s community, local dignitaries like the Mayor and City Councillors, we’ve grown from a local initiative into a city-wide celebration that reflects the richness of Indian heritage and the warmth of Cork’s multicultural spirit.
